Since its creation in 2005, Work in the City Amsterdam has been carried by committed volunteers. Meet the team bringing the network to life today.
Anne-Sophie and Asma make up the current team of Work in the City Amsterdam, bringing enthusiasm and care to everything they do.
President · Vice-Secretary
Based in Amsterdam for 3 years, Anne-Sophie works in events. She brings her experience and creativity to the network, dreaming up events that bring people together, foster connections and create moments of sharing between members.
Treasurer · Secretary
Based in Amsterdam for 4 years, Asma works in IT and project management. She brings her experience to structuring and growing the network, while keeping it well organised. She also helps create opportunities for members to meet, exchange and collaborate.
Work in the City has deeply marked my journey in Amsterdam. I found a powerful network of inspiring women, and a rare collective energy built on sharing, sorority and mutual support.
Organising the Work in the City Amsterdam dinners meant giving women — whether working or job-seeking — the chance to meet, exchange, learn from each other and grow their network in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It remains a wonderful memory and the starting point of beautiful friendships!
These years on the Board were driven by a genuine desire to innovate and evolve the network — mixed-gender evenings, online patisserie workshops during Covid to keep the bond alive despite the distance… Seeing this community continue to grow, adapt and generate so much collective energy has been a profoundly enriching adventure.
Sorority, creativity, friendship: far more than a network — a human adventure that stays with me still today.
This network helped me grow as much personally as professionally: creating, collaborating and connecting in an atmosphere that was both ambitious and authentic was a true adventure. What I loved most was the diversity of women, backgrounds and topics — a living, inspiring and deeply human network.
From the very first day, Work in the City felt like an obvious fit. I discovered a unique, committed spirit here, built on sharing, mutual support and simple, caring human relationships.
I deeply believe in the strength of women's networks. Contributing to this adventure was a very enriching experience, both for the connections I made and for the opportunity to invest myself in a meaningful project with a strong impact for the community.
Work in the City offered me a precious support network and allowed me to build close ties with members of our francophone community. Getting involved in the Board was a unique opportunity to champion sorority and women's ambition, while building lasting bridges between our expat journeys and the opportunities ahead.
